Severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba region

A severe thunderstorm warning for large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall has been issued for people in the Lockyer Valley and Toowoomba areas of south east Queensland.

The Bureau of Meteorology warns that a storm system is moving north and is expected to hit Helidon and Grantham in the next hour.

Large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding are likely.
