Seven's contempt affidavit could see Amber Harrison jailed

Former Seven employee Amber Harrison could face jail time after lawyers for the network pushed for her to be charged with contempt.

The NSW Supreme Court issued a gag order to Harrison in July preventing her from speaking out about her time with Channel Seven.

Seven's lawyers wrote in an affidavit that Harrison was in "contumacious disobedience and contravention of the orders" for comments made in the meantime.

The alleged breaches include comments made on Twitter and an interview she gave on the ABC's 7.30.

"No chook prize for guessing what Boardroom this happened in — the fish rots from the head at @sevenwestmedia," she tweeted, referencing a Seven cadet journalist allegedly sacked for complaining about a colleague's inappropriate behaviour.

She also tweeted prolifically in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein revelations.

"Imagine if my story dropped today and then in response a gang of rich powerful men, running a massive media company, used a court process and PR teams to attack and silence one woman," she tweeted.

"How would that have played out in the current climate(?)"

Harrison found herself in a long legal battle with Seven after she revealed she had an affair with Seven West Media's CEO Tim Worner.
