Senate to inquire into alcohol violence

A Senate committee will investigate the need for a national strategy to address the scourge of alcohol-fuelled violence.

Independent senator Glenn Lazarus called for the inquiry in the Senate on Wednesday, paying tribute to Queensland one-punch victim Cole Miller.

"No parent should ever have to endure the pain and suffering that Cole's parents are currently dealing with - the community desperately wants action."
