Senate inquiry into proposed VET changes

Proposed legislation to protect students from shonky private colleges will be scrutinised by a Senate inquiry.

The bill, introduced to the Senate on Thursday, imposes fines on unscrupulous training providers and makes it tougher for new providers to be admitted to the VET FEE-HELP loan scheme.

Interested parties have until November 20 to make submissions.
