Senate calls for pokies owner register
AAP
The Senate has called for a national register to allow the public to identify poker machine owners.
The motion by independent senator Jacqui Lambie calling on the Turnbull government to work with states and territories to establish a register was backed by the upper house on Tuesday.
The register would allow the public and media to identify people, companies or groups who hold poker machine licences and own machines.
