Manhunt underway and Perth toddler recovering after stolen car ordeal

Police are searching for a man who stole a car with a young boy asleep inside from a Perth property yesterday.

Joseph, aged three, was found unharmed almost two hours after the blue 2013 Subaru Impreza hatch was taken from East Victoria Park about 2pm (AWST).

He had fallen asleep in the back of his parents’ car, which was behind a closed gate, and his mother and father were unpacking the vehicle.

The car was found dumped about 4pm and Joseph was found safe inside it.

“Joe is safe and well and already pestering his sister,” his mother Glenda said yesterday.

“The outcome was exactly what we had hoped for and we are tremendously pleased.”

Superintendent Brad Sorrell said police were continuing to investigate.

“And to the person that did this, we’re coming for you,” he said.
