A full scale search is underway for a backpacker who went missing after he jumped into the Brisbane River last night.

Some of the group are believed to have been drinking at the time.
Water police and local officers said they had searched overnight but have so far been unable to find the man.
Police say it’s not the first time backpackers have attempted the jump and advise against such dangerous behaviour.
