Search resumes for boy taken by croc

The search has resumed for a 12-year-old boy taken by a crocodile in a Northern Territory billabong.

The rescue mission to locate the boy has recommenced on Monday morning after police and Park Rangers were alerted to the attack at Kakadu National Park on Sunday afternoon.

Another boy, also 12, was bitten by a crocodile during the incident, police say.

The missing boy was swimming in the billabong with a number of other young boys when he was taken.

Local police and National Parks rangers are currently scouring the area.

Sergeant Stephen Constable told ABC Radio there hadn't been a "croc attack around here for quite a long time".

"But crocodiles are prevalent in these waters and you always have to be careful," he said.

Police are due to address the media later this morning.
