Sean Abbott emerges with strong performance in Sheffield Shield

After a tough fortnight, Sean Abbott has emerged with a courageous performance for NSW in the final day of their Shield match at the SCG. 

Abbott took six wickets for just 14 runs against Queensland to help bowl the Blues to victory. 

It was Abbott's return to the pitch after bowling a ball that led to the death of Phillip Hughes.

Coach Trevor Bayliss said the cricketing community was beginning to heal.

"The smiles on the faces around the dressing room are a long way from the faces a couple of weeks ago," he said.

Bayliss also said Abbott is destined to have a long career for Australia. 

NSW captain Moises Henriques said the team was happy for the win.

"You'd expect the boys to be a little bit more chirpy in there but certainly very proud and happy," he said.
