Two scuba divers rescued from rip at Sydney beach
Two scuba divers have been winched to safety after being trapped in a rip off a popular Sydney beach.
The two women were in waters off Clovelly, in the city’s eastern suburbs, when they encountered trouble last night.
One of the divers was spotted in trouble about 9pm and the other woman swam to her aid but she also began to struggle.

A rescue helicopter and water police vessels reached them shortly after.
Both women were winched to safety by the chopper.
Paramedics treated the pair ashore but both refused transport to hospital.
