PM talks Afghanistan, hurricanes in first meeting with Joe Biden
Prime Minister Scott Morrison's first meeting with US President Joe Biden was largely focused on Afghanistan.
The pair held their first video call more than eight months into the latter's presidency this morning.
It comes ahead of a planned face-to-face meeting in Washington later in the year, circumstances permitting.

"Australia was referred to in our discussion today as a bedrock partner," Mr Morrison said.
"The president was very grateful for Australia's 20 years of support and assistance, standing with our American partners and many others in those very difficult efforts over those 20 years in Afghanistan."
Mr Morrison expressed his gratitude for the help the US provided in evacuating Australian citizens and visa holders from Afghanistan in recent weeks.
Mr Morrison said he expressed his sympathies over the hurricanes and floods currently afflicting the United States.

"There will be a lot for President Biden and I to talk about when we have the face-to-face meeting in the White House," he said.
"People will see clearly, why it's important for me to be in Washington for those meetings."
A trip to Washington will be determined by factors such as quarantine issues and parliamentary sittings.
Mr Morrison said he did not ask Mr Biden for any vaccine doses during their conversation.
