Public Trustee considers legal action over SBS show

NSW Police are investigating SBS and a forensic cleaning company after a current affairs program was filmed inside a dead woman’s house, without permission.

The NSW Trustee and Guardian has savaged the state broadcaster and is reportedly now considering pressing charges, according to Fairfax Media.

The segment of SBS’s current affairs program The Feed, which aired on Wednesday night, told the story of the mysterious death of an elderly woman whose body lay undiscovered in her Auburn home for several months.

But a spokeswoman for the Trustee said it had contacted NSW Police and was discussing a "whole range of criminality" because neither SBS nor Lee Iordanidis - the owner of a recently deregistered forensic cleaning company - had permission to film within the property.

“The NSW Trustee and Guardian would never release any details about the deceased, her assets or her will publically,” Trustee chief executive Imelda Dodds said.

“We have asked SBS to remove the segment but so far SBS has refused. The NSWTG will be lodging a complaint with the Australian Communications and Media Authority on the basis of a breach of privacy,” Ms Dodds said.
