A fashion disaster! Six women wear same dress to friend’s wedding

It’s every woman’s worst nightmare, but for a group of six, it became a reality.

Six women turned up to their friend’s wedding wearing the same dress, which guest Nancy Cardorin said left her feeling awkward and desperate to go home and change.

Now, she can laugh it off after a photo posted of the group catapulted them to social media stardom.

“I wanted to go and change (but) I came through… We had a laugh,” Ms Cardorin told the TODAY Show this morning.

Bride Julia Mammone said she didn’t realise the fashion faux pas until she entered the room with her new fiancé and saw a “hysterical” guest come running toward her.

“Nancy over here ran over hysterical. She said, ‘oh my God, I’m so embarrassed, there’s six women wearing the same dress!’” she said.

“I thought, ‘oh my God, that’s amazing, we need a photo right now.’”

The now famous photo was posted to the Facebook page of Forever New – the chain store where the women purchased their dresses from – which has since garnered more than 40,000 interactions.

Guest Debbie Speranza, who posted the photo, said the reaction had been overwhelming.

“We’ve had interview requests from all over the world. We’ve had to say stop! America, Britain… I’ve done a phone interview in New Zealand. Before that, Kyle and Jackie O… I’m kind of loving it,” she admitted.

Ms Cammone said the she and the bridesmaids weren’t disappointed the spotlight was stolen from them.

“I’m lucky I’m surrounded by women with such a good sense of humour,” she said.

“They think this is the best thing ever.

“My dress was special but these girls take the cake,” Ms Cammone said.

Forever New contacted the group and have been “fantastic” with their response.

“They did all our hair and make-up this morning, and the outfits obviously,” Ms Speranza said.
