WA woman charged over Sunday stabbing

A 47-year-old Western Australian woman has been charged with attempted murder over the stabbing of a man on Sunday.

The 51-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries in the incident and underwent emergency surgery at the Royal Perth Hospital.

Police say the pair are known to each other and were at the victim's home at Medina, south of Perth, when an argument began.

It escalated to the point where it's alleged the woman stabbed the man multiple times;

It will be further alleged the woman left the scene in the victim's car.

She was arrested early on Monday morning and the car was found abandoned a short time later.

The woman has been charged with attempting to unlawfully kill and is expected to appear in Rockingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
