Veteran centre named after killed soldier

A young South Australian killed by a sniper in Afghanistan has had a new $15 million mental health centre for veterans in Adelaide named after him.

The Jamie Larcombe Centre in Glenside will offer specialised post-traumatic stress disorder help and other services after its build finishes in late 2017, the state government says.

The family of Kangaroo Island-raised sapper Jamie Larcombe, who died at 21 in Afghanistan in 2011, said he would be delighted his legacy would live on at a centre to help diggers.
