Trio charged over outback SA drug bust

Three people face a string of charges over a drug bust in outback South Australia.

Police were called to a roadside stop near Marla about 3am to assist paramedics with an aggressive male patient who had been driving from Adelaide to Alice Springs.

A search of the vehicle turned up amphetamine, a large quantity of cannabis and drug-related equipment, police said.

The trio - a man and woman from Adelaide aged 56 and 48 respectively, and an Alice Springs woman, 42, were charged with drug trafficking and stealing a motor vehicle, among others.

They faced the Port Augusta Magistrates Court and were remanded to appear again at a later date.
