Traffic stop turns up 1000 ecstasy tablets

More than 1000 ecstasy tablets have been found after police searched a couple's car in Adelaide.

A routine traffic stop at 11.30pm on Saturday led police to search the car, finding the tablets, a large amount of cash, and ammunition.

Police then searched a St Peters property and found cocaine and a shotgun.

A 24-year-old St Peters man has been charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled drug, fail to secure firearm, possess firearm without licence, fail to secure ammunition and unlawful possession.

A 21-year-old woman from Elizabeth South has been charged with trafficking a controlled drug, fail to secure ammunition and unlawful possession.

Both have been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
