Car towing caravan swerves across lanes of major highway
Drivers towing caravans, trailers or boats over the summer holidays are being warned to carry out all the proper safety checks after a terrifying near-miss on a major highway.
A car travelling down the South Eastern Freeway in South Australia with a caravan in tow was swerving dangerously between lanes, captured on another driver's dash cam video.
The vehicle fishtailed as it turned a corner, before the driver managed to pull over both the car and caravan to the side of the freeway.

No one was injured but it has served as a reminder for motorists ahead of the Christmas break.
"The worst that will happen is the whole show will go over," Australia Driving Institute's Cameron Wearing told 9News.
"And then people have loose items in their car ... get clobbered to death with the loose items in their car as it rolls over."
Wearing urged motorists to ensure they conduct simple safety checks on their vehicles.

"The single most important thing you need to do is to ensure that you are under the weight and combined weight," he said.
"Once you've got that settled you've got to have the caravan itself balanced."
The government urged holidaymakers to ensure their vehicles were not overloaded and adhere to speed limits.
Drivers must also consider other road users when towing another vehicle.
