Thirty trucks defected in Adelaide

Thirty trucks have been found to have defective brake or steering problems in another police crackdown on heavy vehicles in Adelaide.

As part of operation shake-up, police checked 63 trucks in Adelaide's north on Monday and defected 30 for major problems with some having to be towed from the scene because of their poor condition.

Superintendent Guy Buckley says the number of heavy vehicles that failed is disappointing and the serious issues identified is a major safety concern.
