Stolen dog found hanging from overpass

A stolen dog has been found hanging from a road overpass south of Adelaide.

The dog was spotted by council workers at Victor Harbor on Sunday and has since been returned to its owners.

The red heeler had apparently been left to die but was still breathing when retrieved.

Police say it was taken from a local home on Saturday or Sunday and are investigating if it was a targeted attack.
