South Australia spends $20m on new trams
AAP
Three more trams will soon join Adelaide's transport network.
Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis says $20 million has been set aside in Friday's mid-year budget review to add the trams to the existing fleet of 21 and extend an existing tramline down King William Road to Adelaide's Festival Plaza.
He says the move will help meet rising demand on the network, which catered for 9.2 million trips in 2015/16.
