'Mini-tornado' rips through Adelaide suburb
A freak weather event ripped through parts of the Adelaide suburb of Hectorville this morning and left behind a trail of destruction.
What's been described as a "mini-tornado" tore across a pocket of the north-eastern suburbs just before 7am.
The strong wind ripped the tiles and iron off numerous roofs, and damaged garage doors.

Some residents were shocked at the extent of the damage.
"I didn't think it was that bad but I came out and across the road, all the roofs are gone and trees are down," resident Tony Lau said.
Andrew Turner's property on Ellythorp Avenue suffered the brunt of the system.
"We've lost some roof tiles, the carport's roof has come off, the back fence has come down, the verandah is in shambles," Mr Turner said.

The clean-up is expected to take days, if not weeks, and the damage bill is yet to be tallied.
Based on the damage, the weather bureau estimates winds between 100km/h and 120km/h hit the area.
