South Australian police said a member of Fauna Rescue SA swiftly arrived to rescue the shark, however, it later died.

Police are still unsure how the shark came to be in the puddle, but believe it may have been caught earlier today and dumped, or may have been a pet growing too big for its tank.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
