Seat of Barker tipped to fall to NXT

Polling suggests the Liberal Party could lose a very safe South Australian seat to the Nick Xenophon Team.

MP Tony Pasin holds the seat of Barker, in SA's southeast, by a margin of 16.5 per cent.

But a Reachtel poll commissioned by mining union CFMEU shows NXT candidate James Stacey leading Mr Pasin 52-48 on a two-party preferred basis, News Corp reports.

The poll of more than 850 Barker residents also reveals that of the people who don't plan to preference the Liberals or the NXT first, more than 84 per cent would put the Xenophon candidate above the Liberals.
