Search in South Aust for police escapee

A 19-year-old man who fled police custody in South Australia's mid-north has been found.

Police say Damien Warner was found on Saturday morning in Port Augusta.

Warner had been arrested on Friday afternoon in relation to undisclosed offences and was taken to the Port Augusta Hospital for a medical assessment.

However, he fled from the hospital and was last seen heading for the beach.

Concerns were held for his safety as he suffers from a medical condition.
