Search for missing WA sailor suspended

A search for a man who fell from his yacht while sailing off the Western Australia coast has been suspended.

The 33-year-old fell overboard in Cockburn Sound on Friday while trying to retrieve a dinghy that had blown away.

The dinghy was found at a BP oil refinery near Kwinana Beach but there has been no trace of the man.

Police continued the search at sea on Sunday and also conducted a land search from Woodman's Point to the causeway near Garden Island.

A spokesman said those efforts were suspended on Sunday night but could resume if new information is received.
