Scorching temperatures trigger fire bans in two South Australian districts

Total fire bans have been declared in two South Australian districts with temperatures set to soar across the state.

Bans have been enforced on today on the west coast and the eastern Eyre Peninsula where severe conditions are expected, according to the Country Fire Service.

The restrictions come as temperatures climb into the mid to high 30s with Adelaide forecast to have a top of 34C.

In the mid-north, Port Augusta could reach 39C and Coober Pedy 38C, The Bureau of Meteorology said.

The CFS says in severe conditions well-prepared and actively defended homes can offer safety during a fire, otherwise leaving early is the best option if a bushfire survival plan is not in place.
