SA man charged after stolen car crash

A man has allegedly crashed a stolen car - badly injuring a 63-year-old woman - before stealing the car of a Good Samaritan who'd stopped to help.

The 40-year-old crashed the stolen car into the woman's vehicle at Port Elliot on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula on Tuesday, police say.

The man then forced another driver who stopped at the scene from his car and drove away.

The suspect was found at a Victor Harbor home and remains under guard in hospital charged with offences including dangerous driving, the illegal use of a car and aggravated robbery.

The victim remains in the Flinders Medical Centre in a critical condition.
