Woman on murder plot charge to seek bail

A 72-year-old woman charged with plotting to have another person killed will make a fresh application for bail.

The woman, who has been in custody since her arrest earlier in 2016, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with soliciting another person to commit murder.

Defence counsel Andrew Moffa expressed concern that a key statement presented by prosecutors did not resemble the allegations against his client.

He said on that basis he would make a fresh application for bail, which will be heard when the case returns to court on April 27.

A bail inquiry report has also been ordered and will consider the woman's psychiatric condition.

Mr Moffa said the woman had been held in a secure mental health facility since being detained.
