A man who allegedly glassed a member of the hip hop band Hilltop Hoods has been ordered to stand trial.

Christopher Peregi appeared in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to one count of assault and one count of intentionally causing harm to band member Daniel Smith.

Smith was taken to hospital with non-life threatening head injuries after an incident in May last year.

Defence counsel on Wednesday conceded Peregi had a case to answer and he was committed for trial in the District Court.

He will appear for arraignment on July 12.

The Hilltop Hoods were founded in the Adelaide Hills in 1994 and released their first EP in 1997.

The group is made up of Smith, who goes by the name of MC Pressure, and other members Suffa and DJ Debris.
