SA teen driver leaves trail of damage
A teenager has allegedly assaulted a female friend in Adelaide before getting behind the wheel and leaving a trail of destruction.
Police arrived at a Noarlunga Downs address about 3am on Sunday after the 19-year-old man allegedly hit a light pole and water meter before smashing into a parked car.
The parked car then crashed into a nearby house, causing structural damage.
It is alleged the Morphett Vale teen first assaulted a female friend when she tried to take away his keys in a bid to prevent him driving.
She was not seriously injured.
Police say the teenager fled the scene of the crash, but later made contact with them.
He allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.114, more than twice the legal limit.
The teenager has been bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court at a later date charged with assault, drink driving, leaving the scene of a crash and failing to comply with directions.
