SA surplus grows to $300 million

The South Australian government has delivered a higher than expected $300 million surplus for 2015/16.

Updated treasury figures have revealed the windfall after an initial forecast for a $258m surplus at the May state budget.

It's the first time the SA government has delivered a surplus since the global financial crisis.

"South Australians need the security of a budget surplus so we can invest to grow and create jobs," Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis said.
