SA scammer threatens to euthanise dogs

A scammer posing as a council worker is threatening to put down people's dogs unless they hand over hundreds of dollars.

Campbelltown Council in Adelaide says the caller has tried to convince residents that their dogs had been impounded and would be euthanised unless they paid $260 immediately.

The council has notified consumer affairs officials about the scam.
