Adelaide power supplies will not be disrupted after parts of a power station flooded.

Underground pumps at the Torrens Island Power Station were covered by about two metres of water on Monday morning, South Australia's State Emergency Service says.

AGL Energy, which operates the station, says the water has now been reduced to an "acceptable level".

"Water used for cooling was discovered by AGL operators pooling in the inlet area of AGL's Torrens Island power station," it said in a statement.

"An investigation into the cause is underway."
