SA opposition calls for youth ice facility

The South Australian government should provide funds for a secure therapeutic facility for ice addicted youths in its next state budget, the opposition says.

Opposition spokeswoman Vickie Chapman says the government has been moving too slowly to deal with a growing ice epidemic in the state and is yet to release a planned May report from an ice task force it announced in February.

She says a secure therapeutic centre for teens addicted to ice and other drugs would help them get treatment before "they are lost to a life of misery and crime".
