SA murder charge may be withdrawn

A murder charge may be withdrawn against a woman accused of bashing her mother to death.

Raylene Jean Smith appeared by video link in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday charged over the killing at a Woodville Gardens home in May last year.

The court was told prosecutors are considering whether or not to proceed with the case and expect to make a decision within the next two weeks.

Smith will return to court on February 12.
