SA man to answer terror charges in May

A South Australian man accused of advocating terrorism through online videos will answer the charges against him next month.

The 50-year-old, who cannot be identified, is accused of posting videos to social media that encouraged people in overseas conflict zones to commit terrorist acts.

He came before the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday and was ordered to return on May 19 to answer the allegations.

Defence counsel Stacey Carter told the court she was still expecting the disclosure of more material and that some negotiations were continuing.

Prosecutors previously alleged the man's videos provided instructions and weapons demonstrations on how to kill Jewish people.

He was charged with four counts of advocating terrorism in December when he was already in custody in Adelaide's Yatala Jail.

His identity remains suppressed, with concerns that if the public knew his name they would search for the videos online and possibly prejudice the case.

Authorities have tried to delete the videos from the internet but said it was impossible to be certain that all versions had been removed.
