SA man steals test car during demo

A man has been accused of stealing a Holden test car during a demonstration near Adelaide.

The 28-year-old allegedly stole the brand new Commodore, unlocked with keys in the ignition, after he and a woman drove onto the Mallala Motor Sport Park race track on Thursday, police say.

The woman was held until police arrived, the man arrested in a Para Hills home late on Thursday night and the car found undamaged in a nearby suburb.

The man was refused bail to appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Friday charged with illegal use and breach of bail.

The woman was bailed to appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on December 3 charged with driving while disqualified.
