SA man scares off intruders with a machete

An Adelaide man has fought off two intruders with a machete after they pushed their way into his home overnight.

Just after 1.45am on Wednesday the men knocked on the door of a home at Park Holme, south of the CBD, and attempted to barge in when it was opened.

The two men assaulted the 69-year-old occupant but fled after he confronted them with a machete.

Police say the attack is not believed to be random and investigations are continuing.

The occupant was treated for a minor injury.
