SA man allegedly drives at cop car

A man is facing drug and assault charges after allegedly driving at a police car before leading police on a chase through Adelaide's northern suburbs.

The 23-year-old swerved towards and nearly collided with the car, prompting police to pursue him early on Wednesday.

He was arrested in a front yard after escaping from the car and trying to ditch a bag full of methamphetamine, police said.

He was also caught with several stolen bank cards.

He was refused bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with offences including assaulting police and trafficking a controlled drug.
