The South Australian government is to conduct a full review of the state's liquor laws, saying the current provisions are overly complex.

Attorney-General John Rau says it will be the first review for 20 years and all aspects of the Liquor Licensing Act will come under consideration.

He says the government is seeking the views of key stakeholders to cut red tape, increase business opportunities and promote a safe drinking environment.
