SA govt questions high-priced Test drinks

Adelaide Oval's Stadium Management Authority has been asked to justify the high price of drinks at the third cricket Test between Australia and South Africa starting on Thursday.

A beer will cost cricket fans $9.20, a soft drink $5.60 and a bottle of water $5 with Premier Jay Weatherill describing the prices as "a bit rich" and issuing a "please explain" to the oval's operators.

"We want to make sure the people who come to the game get to enjoy it without being fleeced," Mr Weatherill told reporters on Monday.

The authority says prices have increased by an average of three per cent and reflect the oval's business model and increasing costs.
