Firies control SA bushfire

Firefighters have contained a blaze near Port Lincoln on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula that has been burning for days.

The fire, which burnt through about 620 hectares at Sleaford, was sparked by a burn-off designed to control invasive weeds, the Country Fire Authority says.

Fire fighters lost control of the blaze amid unseasonably hot temperatures and strong winds over the weekend.

The fire did not destroy or threaten any properties and the Port Lincoln National Park has reopened.
