A woman who hasn't held a driver's licence since the 1980s has allegedly crashed through three fences and into a van in Adelaide.

The 45-year-old, whose licence expired in 1988, drove through the fences and side-swiped the van in Huntfield Heights, in the city's southern suburbs, early on Tuesday, police say.

She has been bailed to appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court at a later date charged with driving unlicensed and without due care.
