SA court blocks pedophile's freedom bid

A notorious pedophile will remain behind bars in Adelaide after his release was overruled.

Gavin Shaun Schuster was granted release on licence in April after spending most of the past 16 years in prison for sexually abusing children.

But SA's Court of Criminal Appeal on Monday ruled in favour of an appeal by the Director of Public Prosecutions, who argued Schuster would pose an unacceptable risk to the community.
