SA bushfire still threatening residents

An uncontrolled bushfire at Sampson Flat in the Mount Lofty Ranges continues to burn freely in all directions and is a threat to residents.

The Country Fire Service says the fire is burning near One Tree Hill, Humbug Scrub, Inglewood, Cudlee Creek area, Para Wirra Recreation Park, Kersbrook, Gumeracha, Birdwood, Mount Crawford and Kenton Valley.

A watch and act message has been issued for local residents who have been urged to follow their bushfire survival plans.

The CFS says the Sampson Flat fire is travelling in a very erratic manner.

The fire has already destroyed 12 homes with another 20 feared lost.

Twenty-two people have also suffered minor injuries.
