SA burglar injured as he flees home

An alleged burglar who was caught inside an Adelaide home has tripped while making his get-away, suffering a head injury in the fall.

Police say the man, aged in his 20s, had broken into a Mitchell Park home on Saturday morning when the occupants were away.

They returned to find him inside the home about 9.30am.

"The suspect was chased from the house and pursued on foot by the home owners," police said in a statement.

"A short distance later, the male suspect tripped and fell causing a head injury."

An ambulance was called to take the man to the Flinders Medical Centre.

Sturt Police are investigating the incident and are speaking to witnesses.
