SA ambulance officer stabbed

An ambulance officer treating a woman with a broken arm has been stabbed by a man at Port Augusta in South Australia.
The officer received a minor wound in her leg, as pens and a notebook in her pocket deflected the knife.
Police say she was treating the patient in View Street on Wednesday when she was confronted by the man and stabbed with a knife.

A 50-year-old Western Australian man has been charged with assault causing harm and aggravated assault.
He is due to appear in the Port Augusta magistrates court on Thursday.
