Romance scam costs elderly SA man $25,000

The promise of love has cost an elderly Adelaide man $25,000, through an online romance scam led by a woman who has now been charged.
The Clearview woman spent months building rapport with the man to encourage him to send her the money, which she then sent overseas, police say.
The 57-year-old has been charged with 17 counts of aggravated deception and will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court in late August.
