Phone app helps locate rare frogs

While many people are busy trying to catch Pokemon on their phones, around 250 others have been spotting amphibians using a FrogSpotter app.

Rare toadlets have been spotted in the Adelaide Hills thanks to the smartphone app that helps people track frogs by their calls.

It was launched in May by the SA government.

Three sightings of the Bibron's Toadlet, a species scarcely seen for years, have already been recorded on the app - in Stirling, Aldgate and Athelstone.
